We Hire Great People to Provide Solutions to Your Maintenance Problems
Halmar has been a family-owned company since 1950, and since then, our story has really been about our customers and products. We serve businesses in Kentucky and Southern Indiana in a wide variety of industries – primarily manufacturing companies and mechanical contractors. We represent leading suppliers in the hydraulic and pneumatic industry, including Hy-Lok, Parker Hannifin and WIKA. Our expertise is providing the right product for the right application.
Mark began his Halmar career while in elementary school, sweeping floors and building shelves for inventory in his father’s business. That early experience taught him that hard work and a commitment to excellence pays off.
Mark met his wife, Kathy, at the University of Kentucky, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mark and Kathy remain lifelong Wildcat fans. Their daughter, Sara, attends Louisville Collegiate School and is a third generation Halmar executive in the making.
Mark is not only passionate about work and family, but his community as well. He holds a leadership role in his church and has served on the Board of Directors of the Christian Appalachian Project since 2012. Currently, Mark is the Chair of the Audit Committee for that organization.
Always a competitor, Mark’s hobby for fourteen years was as a Formula Ford series race car driver. He is still enthusiastic about auto racing, attending NASCAR and IndyCar events around the country.
Adam joined Halmar in 2014, with several years of experience with industrial hose and metric adapter applications. Adam works with customers to deliver immediate solutions for their hydraulic and pneumatic problems.
Adam grew up in Louisville, attending Saint Xavier High School. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University, where he received a Bachelors of Science in Fire & Saftey Engineering Technology. Adam met his wife, Eden, while attending EKU.
Adam is avid University of Louisville basketball and football fan, and is a fierce competitor on the volleyball court.
Don joined the Company in 1992, and has provided Halmar products and expertise to manufacturers in Kentucky and Indiana for almost twenty-five years.
Don served in the Navy for four years, receiving training as an electrician. His experience in a supplies warehouse taught him about a wide variety of industrial products, and he transitioned to an outside sales role in 1981.
Outside of work, Don spends time with his wife of more than forty years, Rose, and his daughter’s family, including his grandson. Don and Rose love to travel, especially on cruises. He supports both the UK Wildcats and the U of L Cardinals, and enjoys bowling and golf.
Bob has been part of the Halmar sales team for more than 16 years. After graduating from high school, Bob served our country for three years in the U.S. Army, and then attended the University of Louisville.
Bob’s career has spanned decades, with experience at a number of hydraulics and pneumatics distributors, including a short stint at Parker Hannifin. He has continuously expanded his product knowledge, attending numerous manufacturers’ training programs. Bob also taught classes in hydraulics in local high schools and at Indiana University Southeast.
When not working, Bob enjoys time with his family. He is the proud father of two sons (one of whom recently received an MBA from the University of Louisville). He also has five grandchildren, including two enrolled in Kentucky colleges. Bob is a big sports fan who loves the Cats and Cards. It is a real dilemma when they play each other – but the consolation is that he always has a winner. Among his many other interests, Bob enjoys watching “Jeopardy” and working the crossword puzzle in the daily newspaper.
Halmar isn’t just a parts distributor. It is a family business committed to an enduring legacy of quality and service.
